Black Country Chamber of Commerce

Progressive Safety Solutions Ltd were presented with their official Black Country Chamber membership plaque on Friday 4th July at the BCC's last networking lunch of the season.

Jackie Ashworth from Success Train delivered a short presentation on the benefits of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) within business and Titan Film and Hire were in attendance giving the lunch an authentic 'Independance Day' feel with backdrops and audio visual technology.
Philadelphia born Rashidah Andrews from Coombswood Business Centre described her experience of what July 4th is all about, which was both light hearted and amusing.

We look forward to many more networking opportunities with the BCC in the Autumn.

Discovery Day with BastockFirth

Yesterday we spent a fab day down at Dumbleton Hall nr Evesham. We were invited to a 'Discovery Day' by our business colleagues at BastockFirth to give us a chance to experience one of their team leadership and motivational days, first hand.

The day itself gave us a superb insight into the whole BastockFirth experience whilst also giving us the chance to network with other business contacts. Dumbleton Hall itself is in a beautiful location and definately a place that we will consider using as a future training venue.

As part of the day we had chance to sample some of the various team building activities such as 'Get Knotted' and 'Roll Out the Barrel', pictures of these can be found on the BastockFirth website.

It was great to see how Nick and Eddie work as a team and the whole day had a very organised and professional feel to it. The whole experience has given us some great new ideas for our own training packages. We'll certainly be recommending the BastockFirth philosophy to our own clients.

Health & Safety Expo

We attended the Health & Safety Expo at the NEC, Birmingham on Thurs 15th May. Great event but have to say, we expected a little more in the way of practical demonstrations.

The HSE were in attendance with their usual stand and gave us some great info on a new addition to their website coming shortly. The new section is an interactive tool to help identify hazards in the workplace. We look forward to this new tool being available to use.

Website updated - great advice from the B2B

Had a super visit a week last Friday from Gareth Edwards on behalf of the B2B centre. He gave us fantastic advice with regard to updating and optimising our website. Gareth had previewed the site prior to his visit and emailed us a lengthy report detailing areas for potential optimisation.

His visit was particularly helpful and insightful and since then I've been working non-stop making changes in a variety of ways to make the Progressive Safety Solutions website more appealing. Keyword optimisation has been put into effect and we're hoping to notice the effects within a few weeks.

Progressive - IOSH Managing Safely

Progressive Safety's first IOSH Managing Safely training course as an accredited centre has been running over the last 3 wks with this week being the final week and exam day.

Paul our principal consultant, has much experience delivering this particular course but it gives us a sense of achievement to be able to deliver the course as a registered provider rather than as a trainer for other providers.

Our first IOSH training course has got off to great start with one of our delegates - Chris - having already obtained a fantastic score of 152 out of 155 on his course project after only a weeks worth of homework. Other delegates are well on their way to completing their projects with flying colours and only 2 further units and an exam sitting remain for completion on Wednesday.
